Tree removal

There are certain specific types of pruning to keep mature trees in a healthy, safe and attractive condition. Among which we have:

Weeded

  • Cleaning: Elimination of dead, diseased, piled up, weakly connected and low vigor branches.
  • Thinning: Elimination of branches to increase light penetration and air movement in the crown. By opening spaces in the foliage of the cup we reduce its density. Many times this type of pruning prevents the formation of fungi since when thinning you change the humidity conditions and light intensity within the tree cover.
  • Security: It implies the removal of branches that could fall and cause harm to human lives or damage to private property. Remove branches that obstruct visibility on streets or driveways, as well as those that interfere with cables. Safety pruning in many cases could be avoided if an adequate choice of species were made, taking into account the shape and size of the individual, for the place where it will be planted.
  • Sanitary: It consists of the extraction of branches that are diseased or infested with a pathogen, in order to avoid the spread of healthy branches.

Formative

  • Crown lifting: The lowest branches of the tree are removed when they impede the view of buildings, vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Thinning: Reduces the size of a tree, often to clear power lines, by topping leading or terminal branches, unlike "topping" a thinning maintains the shape and structural integrity of the tree.
  • Training: Seeks to improve the natural characteristics of the trees, highlighting their aesthetics and shape, without distorting the natural structure of the species. In this type of pruning we avoid the crossing of branches, as well as stimulate the vigorous growth of the trees.
  • Rejuvenation: It is an extreme pruning, which is done when the tree gets old and has not received maintenance for many years. The goal is to remove everything old so that it can be replaced by new branches.
